Managing Principal

Clarence Browne, AIA

Design District is under the leadership of Clarence Browne, a registered architect who brings over 19 years experience. Since obtaining his Masters in Architecture from Andrews University in 2006, he has worked on a wide range of public and private sector projects throughout the United States, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Caribbean. Clarence is responsible for design management, client and stakeholder management, project delivery and management of the firm's resources.

Before launching Design District, Clarence served as Project Architect at Cooper Carry in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the most awarded architecture and design firms in the world.  As part of the hospitality studio, he honed his expertise on some of the country's most distinguished hotel, resort & multi-family projects.  Most notable is his role as Project Architect on Columbia Place in Washington, DC, (an urban infill project comprised of a 504-room dual-brand hotel and a 203-unit luxury apartment building), which was awarded Best Master Plan/Mixed Use Project in DC/Maryland for 2019 by the NAIOP. During his time at Jaredian Design Group in St. Thomas, USVI, Clarence contributed to some of the territory's most recognizable public sector and residential efforts, among them the improvements to Veteran's Drive, The Town's Blueprint and the Main Street Enhancement Project in Charlotte Amalie.  There, he mastered the entitlement processes in the territory and partnered with various government departments and semi-autonomous agencies.
